I am currently a freelance digital artist and I love my job for many reasons.
Reasons:
Freedom - able to work anywhere, anytime
Creativity - i'm able to express myself through art and come up with many fun and cute artworks with my customers
Love from my customers
Guys, seriously, the love and support I've gotten from my Chonk Fam is beyond what I could imagine before I started doing art full time.
When I first started posting my art on Instagram back in 2020, I witnessed an artist being bullied by her followers. Eventually, she disappeared from IG. I'm not sure where she went.
I still proceeded with my artist journey despite being a little scared.
Luckily, throughout this 4 years, I've received so many commission orders from kind and friendly people all around the world. My instagram comments are always so positive and heartwarming too.
Yesterday, I posted a comic expressing my hopelessness towards IG algorithm (my engagement is horrible and affected my income terribly).

I guess my message from the comic wasn't clear enough and I made so many of my Chonk Fam worried. So many of you guys messaged me or commented to make sure I'm ok. I feel so proud that I'm part of such a kind and supportive community. This experience is something I'll cherish forever.
These are some of their messages:
Some of them are from new followers and some are from followers since 2020!
It just feels so amazing that people from so far away cares about me too.
I'm glad that I started this journey as an artist. Zero regrets.
However, business is currently horrible so I've actually started job hunting. As much as I love being an artist, the unstable income is stressing me out.
I want to have enough income to treat my family to good food, travels and be ready if any medical needs arise.
I will continue drawing and being part of this community though. I wish everyone can have a safe and warm community of their own too.
As always, thank you, my Chonk Fam.
